What a bizarre notion that health insurance is a right. Why isn’t food a right? Or clothing or shelter? None of those are guaranteed.
Only free markets can efficiently allocate scare resources and healthcare is one of them.
First, health care has a cost. I want to ration my own care. I don’t want someone else (employer or governement) decidng what health care I can have.
Second, I don’t want to burden other people with my health care expenses. Especially my own children (and their children).
Are you a real person, or an idiot? Cause i guarantee you your one or the other. Possibly someone from the health insurance industry? The health Industry is a billion dollar revenue industry. You going to tell me someone making that much money off of people is more functional than a non profit government program. I decided it is a waste of my time to explain anything. Stop getting your information from slanted corporate media and do a little research. Then complain.

First of all I think you are the one that needs to do some research. Secondly,What makes you think it is the goverments job to take care of you? Do you even know whay medical prices cost so much? Do you even know what a right is?
Free market, you fell for that one? sure your welcome to build a company and even prove it works, then big business comes in and under or over cut you until your gone, to whom will you complain? no one, you wanted a free market you got it,,that’s free market, only one that profit from it is big business.
Bankers get finders fees if they have a good idea,, and low and behold here you come and have to tell him your business model to prove you will be solvent,, hahahahahahahaha chiching!!

If your crop gets “infected” by their pollen,
(form another farmer with GMO crop) they can sue you for patent infringement. and they do to get you under their thumb.

health care more important than bloody WAR
Health care is a RIGHT in all civilized countries.
Of all industrialized countries. only in backwards Amerikkka are citizens denied that basic human right.
One day American will get to where Europe is now. Our National Health Service is not perfect, but what is? We Brits would fight with all our collective strength to preserve it. I am a beneficiary of it, having spent 3 months in hospital with blood poisoning when I was young. My parents had to pay not one penny. It is also exceptionally good value – we pay one third of what Americans do and our health care is UNIVERSAL. Emergency treatment is free to anybody, including foreigners.
It’s not the goverments job to take care of you but it is a society’s ethical obligation to provide decent health care to sick fellow citizens. We in the Netherlands have a mixed public/private system which works very well. There is a big deal of goverment involvement but then I think the difference between Europe and the US is that in Europe the goverment fears the people and in the US the people fear the goverment….
Wait, why do you say health care is a right in just the “civilized” countries?
If something is a right, then everybody is entitled to it regardless of the time, place, wealth or level of technology.
You can’t have a “right” to something that infringes on other people’s freedom. Do you really feel it’s all right to force a doctor to give you medical care without compensating him/her?
Yeah, health care is a billion dollar industry. What’s your point? Isn’t the movie industry also a billion dollar industry too? All their films make millions today and yet ticket prices and dvd prices are high. Why doesn’t anyone complain about them being greedy and ripping people off?
And you might be thinking that movies don’t provide something essential to living while health care does but that’s not my point.
Yes, Pinnertop…one day Americans will have the same rights that Europeans have now…but it will probably take violence to achieve those rights.
im canadain our health is 100% free , ive never seen a cash register at my docters office, no long waits , same if not better care than americans, infoact our government has supplied enough H1N1 vaccine for every canada free of charge…. i dont understand how it wroks in the states , my question is how much is it to go to the doctor for a checkup , without insurance?… how much is it to make an emergency trip to the hospital ? how much are surguries … see i dont understand this
and how much is the H1N1 vaccine in the states ??/, and is there much around ???….. our government give it to us free of charge they have enough for every canadain for months now there was never a shortage, i think 98% of our schools are vaccinatted allready grades k-12 … how much is it for the shot in the states>????
Pandemic was a money grab & a wide door open for mass mandatory inoculations similar to what happened in NY and is in Legislative House for Mass where failure to get inoculations will result in jail,, huge fines & quarantine..

Doctors don’t work for free, college professors don’t work for free, medical colleges don’t teach for free, medicine isn’t free, durable medical equipment isn’t free, nurses don’t work for free, and governments do tax the health care industry. Nothing is free my friend.
@residentzombie im not stupid … why dont you think before you comment, im canadain our health is free OBVIOUSLY DOCTERS GET PAID very well, my mother is one ….i know health costs are paid for with tax , im 21 i have a job i pay income tax and house tax , which is LOW compared to america, and i have to pay GST ( goods and service tax) 13 cents on every doller , and we get our gst tax back 4 times a year, we also get our income tax back usually 80% on our T4 tax return
@residentzombie and as i said before we have income and property tax JUST LIKE AMERICA and our tax is lower , and THEY GIVE OUR TAX BACK TO US, our tax is less than america AND THEY GIVE US HEALTH in return and they refund our tax EVERY YEAR , we have goods and service tax which is nothing ( 13 cents on every dollar, which is given back to us 4 times a year ) and we dont pay taxes on groceries like eggs milk bread , baked goods , meats , fish poultry, vegtables , and we get our GST back any way
@diezungen we have the same free health as Europeans because Canada is part of the british common wealth an empire we have 2 flags the Canada flag and the Union Jack , we are part of the british empire a commonwealth of 53 countries BATTLE READY and strong , you say america will invade england , thats funny do u understand the full combined force of the royal airforce and royal navy? all 53 countries it DWARFS americas force… good luck with that …GOD SAVE THE QUEEN
@Pinnertop very true im canadain , canada, australia and 51 other countriesare part of the british commonwealth , no one would stand against england ,all or money has the queens face on it , our airforce is called the royal canadian airforce and has the same RAF symbol as britian, england is VERY strong that is why britain and the rest of the commonwealth has free health, what can an american dollar buy in europe…. pack of matches??? poor bastards and their failing economy
Yes, because Canadians are not funding a global empire of military bases are endless wars across the world. You are twisting my statement to make it seem as if I am saying that 100% of your taxes go to fund healthcare. Neither do Americans pay taxes on basic groceries either.
